Hidden Heritage of Tröllaskagi- Private Tour
Fjords, Vikings & Turf-Roofed Traditions
Journey through the scenic fjords and rich cultural landscapes of North Iceland on this private, story-filled day tour. We begin with the coastal charm of Dalvík and the historic beauty of Siglufjörður — once the herring capital of the North. In Sauðárkrókur, explore *1238: The Battle of Iceland*, an immersive experience that brings Viking-age sagas to life. Finally, step into Iceland’s turf-roofed past at Glaumbær, a beautifully preserved farmhouse museum. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views, personal storytelling, and a pace designed entirely around your comfort and curiosity.
We depart from Akureyri, following the fjord to Dalvík for a peaceful village stop. In Siglufjörður, we stroll the colourful harbour and, if you’d like, visit the award-winning Herring Era Museum. Next, in Sauðárkrókur, discover Viking history through interactive exhibits at *1238: The Battle of Iceland*. Our final stop is Glaumbær turf farm — a window into Iceland’s rural life in centuries past. We return to Akureyri via a scenic inland route, taking time for quiet reflection and sweeping valley views.
